The Bursary award is made annually and comprises an award of £2000 plus paid work experience during the holidays. A GE Ltd Bursary is a great opportunity for anyone in higher education to make their contribution to what we do. Applicants should be able to relate their course of studies to our organisation. Possible areas would include Engineering, IT, and Accountancy.
Bursary applicants should expect to attain 3 A levels including mathematics and a science.

What does a Bursary involve?
A Bursary is an award to students entering Higher Education. Currently it comprises a total annual payment of £2000 plus paid work experience of at least six weeks during the summer holiday and other holidays when appropriate. The Scheme will not affect any grants given by the Education Council.
What is the time period of a Bursary?
The award is made annually. Bursars may reapply at the end of the year for another Bursary.
What are the general conditions for entry?
Bursars will be ordinarily resident in Guernsey and entering Higher Education in a subject that is relevant to Guernsey Electricity.
What subjects are relevant to Guernsey Electricity?
Whilst engineering is at the core of our business there are many other professions which may be considered. Examples of subjects supported include; Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Accountancy, and Information Technology.
Is there any opportunity for full time employment after completing my Degree?
Whilst there is no guarantee of employment, the Bursary Scheme recognises the significant time and commitment involved in gaining a degree and membership of the relevant professional body. Therefore employment may be offered under certain circumstances.

All applications made before the 15 May will be put forward for consideration, following which interviews will be conducted, before a final decision is made at the end of May.
