The 15ft double-handed dinghy is used for training as it is stable and has room for two trainees and an instructor.

Clare Packman, Guernsey Electricity’s communications manager (pictured with Richard Klein from the Guernsey Sailing Trust), said the company was happy to spend £1,000 on the sails, which will help a large number of budding young sailors in the island.

‘This is the second time that we have sponsored a set of sails for the Guernsey Sailing Trust’s training boats. The trust has done a fabulous job in offering sailing to all schoolchildren in the Bailiwick, making it an accessible and inclusive sport,’ she said.
