During Christmas any customers with prepayment meters will benefit from additional “friendly times” where if you run out of credit on your meter, it will not immediately be turned off. However this does mean if you run out of credit over the Christmas weekend during the "friendly times", and you do not top up, your electricity will switch off once the "friendly times" finish on Tuesday 29th December at 9am.
You should also remember that this period collects both your electricity consumption and any hire purchases and standing charges on your account. This will have a big impact on customers that we collect for high value items/debt.
We recommend that customers top-up prepayment meters with enough credit to cover the Christmas weekend.
This weekend your “friendly times” are as follows:
Christmas Eve: 16:30 – 00:00
Christmas Day: All Day
Boxing Day: All Day
Sunday 27th December: All Day (as normal)
Bank Holiday Monday (Boxing Day in Lieu): All Day
