We offer a range of tariffs to suit your lifestyle and to meet your electricity needs from lighting to heating and everything in-between.
The Standard tariff is the electricity supply tariff with a single rate for all units consumed.
The Super Economy 12 tariff is divided into two rates. The lower rate is made available to customers for a 12 hour period each day. The 12 hours of low rate comprises of a 10 hour period during the night and a 2 hour period during the day time. The normal rate applies for the remaining 12 hours.
Super Economy 12 Low Units. 10 hour period between 7:45 pm & 8:15am, 2 hour period between 12:00 noon & 4:40 pm. Please contact the Meters Department on 241990 for further information on available time bands. This tariff can be used for anything including lights, fires, washing machines, water heating, night storage heating and under floor storage heating.

It must be used in conjunction with another of GEL’s tariff suitable for lighting and power. It is not available for permanently-connected heat pumps for which a dedicated Heat Pump Tariff exists (please see below).
Guernsey Electricity reserves the right to interrupt a supply to dedicated heating tariff meters, in the unlikely event of severe network conditions, for up to 30 minutes in a 24-hour period with the maximum number of interruptions being four times per calendar year.
The heat pump tariff is available to all customers for separately metered supplies to permanently-connected heat pumps. This includes ancillary controls, pumps and flange elements directly associated with the heat pump installation.
This tariff is only available for separately metered supplies to permanently-connected heat pumps. Guernsey Electricity reserves the right to interrupt a supply to dedicated heating tariff meters, in the unlikely event of severe network conditions, for up to 30 minutes in a 24-hour period with a maximum number of interruptions being four times per calendar year.
The Non-Peak tariff is available for certain commercial “lighting only” installations and is available for a minimum of 20 hours a day.
Supply available for a minimum of 20 hours. The supply may be disconnected for a total of 4 hours at the discretion of Guernsey Electricity.
The Buy-Back tariff is for customers with installed private generation equipment. Micro and Macro generation input into Guernsey Electricity’s network shall be credited to customers on units delivered.
This tariff is available to customers with their own generating equipment, wishing to export power to Guernsey Electricity. Please see our Private Generation EE40 form below for Terms & Conditions or for an application.
For systems in excess of 25 kW, a monthly charge will be applicable where Guernsey Electricity are required to provide a Standby Service.

The Maximum Demand tariff is for customers with an electricity demand typically greater than 75kW. A Maximum Demand Charge for each kW of maximum demand shall be charged for the months of November through March.
The economy version of the Maximum Demand tariff is for customers with an electricity demand typically greater than 75kW. A Maximum Demand Charge for each kW of maximum demand shall be charged for the months of November through March. There is a 10 hour overnight low period when a reduced rate will be applied to all units consumed. The normal rate applies for the remaining 14 hours.
Maximum Resale Price
Guernsey Electricity Limited, in accordance with section 23(2)(b) of the Electricity (Guernsey) Law 2001, hereby gives notice that the maximum resale price at which electricity may be resold by persons to whom it is supplied is 17.86 pence per unit. The increase in the maximum resale price is in recognition of the tariff increase effective from 1st October 2012.
