Still without power?

If there are no power cut notifications but you're still without power, there could be a few reasons. 

Important: Please keep your fridge or freezer closed until your power is restored. Food should keep between 4-6 hours in the fridge and 15-24 hours in the freezer if the doors aren't opened. 

  • Check your trip switch is on

    Check your fuse box, which is usually found in a cupboard, garage, or under the stairs.

    Look at the row of small switches. An on switch will be in the up position. An off or tripped switch will be in the down position.

  • Are your neighbours without power?

    Check to see if your neighbours still have their electricity supply - if everywhere is off, but you can't see a power cut notification above, please call our Freephone emergency number 0800 587 0285 to let us know there is a power cut. 

     

    If your neighbours still have their electricity supply, your trip switch is on, but you're the only house without power, there may be a fault in your home. Please call 0800 587 0285

  • Prepayment meter out of credit?

    If you're on a 'pay as you go' electricity account, your prepayment meter may be out of credit or faulty. 

    If you have run out of credit and the shops are closed, our "friendly times" mean you don’t need to worry about the lights going off.

    If credit runs out before the friendly time period starts, you'll need to press the green emergency credit button or top up.
